Classroom Rules

Classroom and School Behavior

In order to provide all students with an excellent educational environment, classroom rules must be followed.  I will be using Class DoJo as a class management tool.  This program allows me to track students’ behaviors (positive and negative) easily and efficiently.

A great feature of Class DoJo is that it allows parents to see a behavior and skills report.  All you need to do is use the parent access code to sign up—I sent this home in the letter that I sent to you before school started.

Consequences that may occur for not following rules:

Some examples of consequences could be:  paying tickets (explained below), loss of DoJo points, changing seats, calling parents or sending a note home, time out, office referral, and loss of PROUD reward.

My goal for our classroom behavior is to focus on the positive so that we can have amazing behavior.  We will be focusing on our classroom rules daily.  The student of the day will point to the rules while the entire class recites the rules.  I will also refer to the rules during instruction time if I notice that student(s) need reminded of certain rules.

We will be using a ticket system in our classroom.  Tickets will be given to students who follow the rules and expected behaviors.  Tickets will also be given out for other special classroom activities.  Tickets may also have to be “paid” for not following rules and expected behaviors.  We will periodically have ticket sales where the students can use their tickets to buy certain items or they can use their tickets to try to win certain items.

I have already discussed this plan with your child and ask that you review this plan with him/her at home.
