STUDENT COUNCIL is a group of 4th and 5th grade students who are elected by their classes. The students serve the school and community through collecting recycling, sponsoring a book fair, organizing food drives, and helping out at the Elk County Humane Society. Advisors include Mrs. Erin Hanslovan, Mrs. Tricia Porkolab, Mrs. Laura Smith, and Mrs. Leigh Aaron.
CHORUS is open to 4th and 5th grade students. Rehearsals are Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:00 AM. Chorus performs in several concerts throughout the year, including an All-Elementary holiday concert and an All-District spring concert. Students also have the option of auditioning for IU9's Chorus Fest which is sponsored by an Intermediate Unit school in the spring. Chorus is directed by Miss Stephanie Metal.
BAND is taught to interested 5th grade students during their regularly scheduled music class periods. Students are encouraged to attend an annual fall band night to help select an instrument. The Band performs in several concerts throughout the year, including an All-Elementary holiday concert and an All-District spring concert. Students may be selected for IU9's Band Fest which is sponsored by an Intermediate Unit school in the spring. Band is directed by Mr. Christopher Gankosky.
MUSICAL is an early musical theater experience for 4th and 5th grade students. It is in addition to the annual grade level musicals in which every student take part. Musical is an after-school activity held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 PM. The activity will culminate in a November production. This year's musical is "Alice in Wonderland." Musical is directed by Miss Stephanie Metal.
BASKETBALL is the school-sponsored sport for elementary students. It is open of 5th grade girls and 4th & 5th grade boys. Teams practice several days a week after school and compete against other elementary teams from area schools. The 5th grade girls' coach is Erin Hanslovan.
