Meet the Teacher

Hello! My name is Sheila Bauer. This is my 15th year teaching Kindergarten at South St. Marys Street Elementary School. Before that, I taught First Grade here at South St. Marys Street Elementary School. And I started my teaching career teaching Second Grade at St. Leo School in Ridgway for  close to 10 years.

       I am a 1990 graduate of St. Marys Area School District. After high school, I attended Penn State. I graduated from Penn State in 1994 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education. In 1999 I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State.  I continue to take professional development classes to enhance my teaching style.

       I live in St. Marys with my husband, two sons, and dog, Buffy. I enjoy going for a rides to look for elk and bald eagles.  I also enjoy going for walks, and spending time at camp with family and friends.  I look forward to working with you and your child this school year!
