Homework

Math:  Math homework is given once a week (usually Tuesdays).  By helping your child with math homework, you can see the concepts your child is learning and if you notice your child doesn't understand a concept please contact me.

 

Language Arts:  I don't teach all of my homeroom Spelling, Reading, and English.  Please ask your child who his/her reading teacher is.  I teach the Title I Language Arts classes for second grade.

 

Spelling:  The words are given each Monday.  We work a half hour each day on the words, but please review them each night.  The students will be given a Spelling Pretest on Thursday.  If he/she receives 100%, your child won't need to take the test on Friday.

Monday: Study the vocabulary words, focusing on 2-3 words.

Tuesday:  Study the rest of the vocabulary words.  Please read the story of the week with your child.

Wednesday.  Have your child read the story independently to you and sigh his/her story card.

Thursday:  Review the story.

 

Every evening, your child will have a "Reading Folder" to sign.  Please have your child read the assignment and sign the folder.
