Meet Mrs. A

Welcome!  

My name is Mandy Assalone, most folks here call me Mrs. A (the A stands for Awesome).  I was born and raised in St. Marys and this is my 11th year teaching PE here at South St. Marys Street Elementary School.  

I completed my undergrad in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and my Master's in Physical Education through Emporia State University in Kansas.  Prior to teaching I earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Math and held a job in the networking field where I realized that I enjoy moving and being with people way more than computers!

I live in St. Marys with my husband and two sons – Nico and Gio.  We love being outside, enjoying time with family and friends, and anything active!  

It is my goal to help all of my students become a little healthier throughout their lives by learning how to move and why to move while having a lot of fun along the way!
